Path to .SHX, .PFB & .TTF files
Overview

In order for Cad Publisher to be able to produce the correct output files, the paths to the fonts must be set.

Cad Publisher also uses the font information for the correct display of the fonts in the Viewer.

shx fonts...
AutoCAD SHX files can be used in the output files.

Cad Publisher uses the font information from the SHX files for correct production of the fonts for the output files and for display of the font in the Viewer

If the path is not set, or the SHX file for a particular font is not available, the text may not display correctly or will be displayed and output as Romans.

pfb fonts...
The .pfb are Adobe Type 1 fonts that you may have purchased or downloaded from the web. They are normally installed to the PSFONTS directory.

Cad Publisher uses the font information from the PFB files for correct production of the fonts for the output files and for display of the font in the Viewer.

If the path is not set, or the PFB file for a particular font is not available, the text may not display correctly or will be displayed and output as Helvetica.

.ttf
The .ttf are True Type fonts that you may have purchased or downloaded from the web. They are normally installed to the Windows\Fonts directory.

Cad Publisher uses the font information from the TTF files for correct production of the fonts for the output files and for display of the font in the Viewer.

If the TTF file for a particular font is not available, the text may not display correctly or will be displayed and output as Arial.

Hint:
The path to the TTF fonts is automatically set to the Windows\Fonts directory.

The output font to be used is setup under the Fonts tab of the settings file.

When Cad Publisher reads a PFB, TTF or SHX file for the first time it creates a .cpf file in the appropriate "fontcache" sub-directory of Cad Publisher. This is to aid with the display and output of the fonts.

If you think a font is not displaying correctly you may need to delete its .cpf file and run the file again.
