Operating System
Cad Publisher runs under Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, NT and XP.

NT & 98 vs 95:

There are some differences when using Cad Publisher in Windows 95 vs NT, 98, 2000 & XP.

These are related to the GDI and the limitations in Windows 95.

  • 95 can be heavy on the GDI resources although there shouldn't be any trouble in processing a file to see the result in the Viewer.
  • With 95 you may not be able to have the Viewer, Settings and Renderstyles open at the same time.
  • With 95 you may not be able to have as many applications open as you can in NT.
  • Dashpatterns will be shown with NT but not 95 in the Viewer.

Input files
Cad Publisher processes CAD DXF files.

Files from AutoCAD 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 2000, 2002, AutoCAD LT, Generic CADD and AutoSketch are suitable.

Cad Publisher can process DXF files produced by other CAD packages such as MicroStation, MapInfo, Caddsman, ME10, ArcInfo etc., if the AutoCAD DXF standard is adhered to.
