Summary of the first job

Summary

  • We have processed a file with the internal defaults
  • Looked at the color view
  • Looked at the monochrome view
  • Looked at the separations view
  • Looked at the separations plates
  • Looked at as CAD view
  • Looked at the geometry

Now we can move on to processing a file with a settings file and renderstyles file loaded.

For the second job the first thing we will be doing is making a copy of the current job card by "cloning" it.

Remember that:
The cmyk1234 and composite plates are used for color separation output in the offset printing process.

The cmyk1234 plates are the individual printing plates that take the ink to produce the output.

Those ink colors are:

  • c = cyan
  • m = magenta
  • y = yellow
  • k = black
  • 1 = Spot color 1
  • 2 = Spot color 2
  • 3 = Spot color 3
  • 4 = Spot color 4

The spot colors are usually solid colors mixed by the printer for a specific result.

Cad Publisher enables you to produce output files for the normal four color process (cmyk) plus four spot colors.

Hint:
You can set the ink color for the plates in the Renderstyle Library under the Globals section.

You are not locked into using cyan, magenta, yellow and black.
