| Internal defaults for processing |
|
The following information shows what happens when a CAD file is processed without a settings or renderstyles file loaded. The programs internal defaults are used and in many cases this may be all you need for a result. |
Once you've read this section move on to loading the first Job. |

| What happens when: | |
| You process a CAD file with an existing settings file and renderstyles file and the new CAD file contains additional layers names that you are unaware of? |
The new layer names are placed at the bottom of the Layers list and processed with the renderstyle called "default". If the layer is off or frozen in the cad file it will be seen as off by Cad Publisher and not appear in the output file. If you don't want any rendering to occur to these additional and perhaps unexpected layers, you can set up the renderstyle called default to be "blank". Or if you do want them to be rendered in a specific way, set up the renderstyle called default for that renderstyle library to do the job you want. |
| You process a CAD file with an existing settings file and renderstyles file and a renderstyle name has been changed and not assigned to the layer/s? | Any layer that is assigned a renderstyle name that is not in the renderstyle library that is being used for the processing, will be processed with the renderstyle called "default" from that library file. |
| You process a CAD file with an existing settings file and renderstyles file and the new CAD file contains additional cad style names that you are unaware of? | The new cad style names are processed as the origianl fonts, if they are on the system. |
|
Hint: Some dxf files may not contain any "extents" values. Cad Publisher will read the DXF file and work out the real extents. |
